To provide a briefing on Ofsted’s Inspection of Local Authority Children’s Services and the new judgement on Care Leavers |
Members of the Corporate Parenting Panel are asked to note the update.
1.1 Ofsted’s Inspection of Local Authority Children’s Services (ILACS) framework was implemented in 2018. Ofsted have undertaken extensive research and consultation in relation to care leavers and have concluded that embedding the evaluation of the experiences and progress of care leavers within the wider ‘children in care and care leavers’ judgement has not maximised the profile of care leavers to the extent intended.
1.2 Ofsted have therefore introduced a new separate judgement for care leavers form January 2023. This presentation provides a briefing for the Corporate Parenting panel on the judgement.
